The Cortland is a fine-textured, good-flavored red apple similarto the Mac. It is primarily grown in the Northeast and is at its best earlyin the season, when it is firm and crisp. In mid and late season, the Cortlandstend to be on the soft side. They do well in CA storage, but not too manyare stored in that manner.
