The Packham Triumph, an important variety in the Southern Hemisphere,
is very similar to our Bartlett. It is sweet and juicy and has a green skin
that turns yellow as it ripens, but it never has a red cheek. It has a similar
shape but a more slender neck than the Bartlett.
Imported Packhams, along with Boscs, are in the market from March through
July, at which time the new crop of California Bartletts takes up the slack.
