Description: trumpet-shaped caps spanning 3/4-3 inches in width and flaredor wavy at the upper edge. They are waxy. charcoal gray in color with nogills.
Note: in France. the black trumpet is sometimes referred to as la viandedes pauvres" meaning poor people's meat, because of its plenitude indifficult economic times.
