This variety attains good size and, like most of the other hard and semi-hard shelled varieties, has an orange flesh. The skin color is usually a light orange, but some varieties are almost ivory-colored. The banana squash has good flavor and texture. While this variety is a newcomer to most areas east of the Mississippi, it is fairly well known on the West Coast.
