HERB BUTTER


1/2 cup softened butter
1/4 teaspoon dill weed
1/4 teaspoon dried tarragon
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons chopped chives

Cream butter until very smooth, using medium speed. Add spices and continue mixing until mixture is light and fluffy. Spread on bread, pastry or toast pieces as canape base. Yields 1/2 to 3/4 cup.
