BEIGNETS


Here is a recipe;
2 cups flour
1/2 t salt
1/2 t powder
2 T sugar
1/4 C melted unsalted butter
1 egg
1/2 C milk
veg. oil
Heat oil in deep skillet. Sift together flour,salt,powder, & sugar.Beat egg and milk together in small bowl. Add to flour mixture; add meltedbutter and work together with hands.
Turn onto floured surface and knead until smooth. Roll into about 20 smallballs. Roll each ball into thin circle using rolling pin. Fry beignets 5at atime turning once until gold brown. Drain on parchment paper lined w/paper towels . Dust with powdered sugar. Enjoy
