BRISKET


3 pounds beef brisket
pepper and paprika to taste
1 package dry onion soup mix
1/2 cup chili sauce
1/2 cup water

Microwave Oven Directions: Place meat in a glass casserole. Season withpepper and paprika. Cover dish and cook on medium setting for 1 hour, oruntil fork tender. About 20 minutes before brisket has finished cooking,sprinkle onion soup mix over surface of meat. Re-cover and continue cooking.Slice brisket thin to serve. Combine 1/2 cup pan juices with 1/2 cup chilisauce and serve as gravy.

Crock Pot Directions: Place brisket in crock pot. Sprinkle with seasoningsand onion soup mix. Combine chili sauce with 1/2 cup water and pour on top.Cover crock pot and cook on low setting for 8 to 10 hours.

Conventional Directions: Place brisket in a roasting pan. Sprinkle on seasoningsand onion soup. Add chili sauce and 1/2 cup water. Cover tightly with foiland roast at 325°F for about 2 hours, or until meat is almost tender.Remove cover and baste with pan juices. Continue roasting 30 minutes longer,or until brisket is browned, basting frequently.
