3 pounds corned beef
1 onion, sliced
1 bay leaf
2 cups water
4 potatoes, peeled and sliced
4 carrots, cut up
1 onion
Microwave Oven Direction: Rinse the meat. Put the onion, celery and bay
leaf into a large glass baking dish and place meat on top. Pour 2 cups water
over meat. Cover and cook on high setting for 6 to 8 minutes, or until water
is boiling. Lower setting to medium and cook for 1 to 1 1/2 hours longer,
or until meat is fork tender. Turn meat when half done. If desired, vegetables
may be added during second half of cooking time.
Crock Pot Directions: Place corned beef in crock pot with 4 cups of water.
Add onion, celery, bay leaf. Cover; cook on low for 10-12 hours. If vegetables
are added, arrange in crock pot before meat.

celery and bay leaf, and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil, lower heat
and simmer for 3 hours, or until tender. Add vegetables during last hour.
