12 manicotti shells
2 quarts salted water
1 (15.5 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce with mushrooms
3 1/2 cups Spinach or Cheese Filling (see Lasagne #2 Recipe)
1 1/2 cups shredded cheese
Microwave Oven Directions: Cook manicotti shells in 2 quarts boiling salted
water for 5 to 8 minutes, or until slightly softened but still firm enough
to handle and stuff. Carefully drain and rinse in cold water. Pour about
1/2 cup sauce into an oblong glass baking dish and spread sauce to cover
bottom of dish. Stuff each shell with prepared filling mixture and arrange
in baking dish. Pour remaining sauce over shells. Cook on high setting for
10 to 12 minutes or until filling is hot and sauce is bubbly. If desired,
shredded cheese may be sprinkled on top. Return dish to microwave oven and
cook on high setting for 1 minute, or until cheese is melted.
Conventional Directions: Prepare manicotti as described above. Cheese may
be sprinkled over uncooked manicotti. Bake uncovered in a 375°F for
30 minutes, or until filling is hot and sauce is bubbly.
