1/4 cup prepared horseradish
1/2 teaspoon prepared mustard
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
Microwave Oven Directions: Put butter in glass dish and cook on high setting
until melted (about 30 seconds). Add flour and salt, stirring until smooth.
Cook on high setting for 30 seconds, until very hot. Add milk, stirring
constantly until smooth. Cook on high setting for 4 minutes, stirring once
every minute, until sauce is thick and bubbly.
Conventional Directions: In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
Stir in flour and salt. Cook until mixture bubbles, stirring constantly,
but do not allow to brown. Remove from heat. Add milk and stir until smooth.
Return to heat and cook until mixture thickens, stirring constantly.
Add horseradish and mustard to prepared White Sauce. Use non-dairy creamer
and margarine to make a sauce with corned beef or flanken.
