2 tablespoons margarine
3 medium onions, thinly sliced
6 cups beef stock
1 teaspoon sugar
salt and pepper to taste
Microwave Oven Directions: Place margarine and onions in a large glass
bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and cook on high for 10 minutes, or until
onions are soft. Stir in beef stock and sugar. Cover with plastic wrap.
Cook until soup is hot (about 10 minutes) on high setting. Add salt and
pepper to taste.
Conventional Directions: In a hot frying pan melt margarine and sauté
onions until soft. Transfer to a soup pot and add remaining ingredients.
Bring to a boil, then lower heat and simmer until soup is hot. Season
to taste.
