BAKED POTATOES


1 pound potatoes

Microwave Oven Directions: Wash and dry potatoes; carefully check weight on a kitchen scale. Pierce the skin with a fork to allow steam to escape. Place potatoes on a paper towel in microwave oven. If cooking just a few potatoes, allow 1 minute per ounce cooking time at high setting. If total weight of potatoes is between 1 and 2 pounds, allow about 45 seconds cooking time per ounce. If total weight exceeds 2 pounds, allow 30 seconds per ounce.

Crock Pot Directions: Scrub potatoes but do not dry. Place in crock pot, cover and cook on low setting 6 to 8 hours, or until potatoes are tender. There is no need to add liquid.

Conventional Oven Directions: Wash and dry potatoes. Rub surface lightly with oil or margarine. Bake at 425°F for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until potatoes are soft. Halfway through cooking time, pierce the skins with a fork to allow steam to escape.
