1 pound beets
Microwave Oven Directions: Weigh beets on a kitchen scale. Place in glassdish and cover with plastic wrap. Cook beets for 7 minutes per pound. Aftercooking, the beets may be easily peeled, then sliced, quartered, choppedor cut into julienne strips for serving. Serve hot or cold.
Conventional Directions: Cut tops from beets, leaving short stems. Washwell. Place beets in a saucepan with 1 inch of boiling salted water. Coverpot and cook until beets are tender, about 1 hour. When beets are done,cool slightly and slip off the skins. Serve as in basic recipe.
