1 pound carrots
Microwave Oven Directions: Wash, peel and trim carrots. Check weight on
a kitchen scale. Carrots may be left whole or cut into circles, sticks or
dice. Place carrots in a glass dish and cover top of dish with plastic wrap.
Cook to a tender-crisp stage on high setting in microwave oven: 7 minutes
per pound. For soft-cooked carrots, cook on a high setting 2 minutes, lower
setting to medium and cook 10 minutes longer.
Conventional Directions: Prepare carrots as directed above. Place carrots
in a saucepan with 1 inch boiling salt water. Cook, covered, until tender
(about 30 minutes). Drain and serve.
