CRISP ONION RINGS


2 cups plain flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups milk
1 egg
6 large Bermuda onions

Make batter in large mixing bowl, using first five ingredients. Mix untilsmooth and soft. Wash onions. Peel off brown husk. Slice onions in largecrosswise sections and separate into rings. Dip each onion ring in batterand fry in deep fat until brown. Drain on paper towels and serve at once.
