CRISP ONION RINGS


2 cups plain flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups milk
1 egg
6 large Bermuda onions

Make batter in large mixing bowl, using first five ingredients. Mix until smooth and soft. Wash onions. Peel off brown husk. Slice onions in large crosswise sections and separate into rings. Dip each onion ring in batter and fry in deep fat until brown. Drain on paper towels and serve at once.
