2 1/2 pounds turnips, peeled and quartered
2 tablespoons minced onion
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
4 tablespoons margarine
3 cups or more water
Microwave Oven Directions: Place turnips and onion in a glass bowl. Cover
with plastic wrap and cook on high setting for 15 to 18 minutes, or until
turnips are tender. Allow to stand a few minutes. Mash well and season with
salt, pepper and margarine. Whip until fluffy.
Crock Pot Directions: Place turnips, onion and salt in crock pot. Cover
with water. Cover crock pot and cook on low setting 6 to 8 hours, or until
turnips are tender. Drain. Mash the turnips, adding margarine and salt and
pepper to taste. Whip until fluffy.
