Taro (dasheen) is the tropical counterpart to our white potato. While
it is starchy, it is very digestible and is often used in the diets of infants
and invalids. Like the potato, it may be boiled, mashed, fried, or baked.
Taro is a staple in the diets of native Hawaiians who use it to make pod.
