CONDRIEU

The appellation " Condrieu " covers the vineyards of the villages of Verin St-Michel and Condrieu eight miles from Vienne, and on the same right bank of the Rhone. The appellation Condrieu includes only those wines grown from the Viognier vine. As most other white wines, Condrieu may be drunk when young, but with age it can often also charm the connoisseur's palate.

Tiny output -- less than 2000 cases per year

Viognier grape variety with a heavily perfumed and distinctive spicy flavor that is picked up from the varietal and the soil.
