Created in August 1967 the appellation "Cotes du Rhone Villages" distinguishes the best wines for which the growers voluntarily accept a more rigorous control to ensure that they present the very essence of the qualities of their sun and soil. The vineyards stretch from the boundaries of the Dauphine and the County of Venaissin to the approaches of Vaison-la-Romaine. Planted in a harsh dry soil, the grenache, syrah, mourvedre, cinsault and clairette vines produce their much appreciated roses, but the consumer knows the red wines better rich and fervent with all the aromas of the sun drenched moors. They range from carafe wines, gracious and fruity to be drunk in all their young freshness, to sumptuous long keeping wines, like those that Vinsobres produces for you in its privileged position sheltered from the wind, and in the full light of the sun.
