Appellation established in 1989

This region is the link between the Southern Rhone and the Languedoc. Stylisticallyit is far more akin to Cotes du Rhone

Vast region of 8400 acres with stone covered soil similar to Chateauneuf-du-Pape.

Minimum alcohol is 11%: Maximum yield is 60 ML/HA (275 cases per acre)

Permitted grapes for red are Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre, Terret Noir, Counoise,Carignan, and Cinsault.
